Years From Creation :
(all years / ages from the book of Genesis)
Jared 460-1422
Noah: 1056 - 2006
Shem 1556-2158
FLOOD: 1656
Arpachshad 1658-2096
Shelah 1693-2126
Eber 1723-2187
Peleg 1757-1996
Terah 1878-2083
Abraham:1948-2123
First a little history information. The tower of babel occurred after the flood and before Abraham's birth. Some claim it happened in 2,200BC which works out to be 1744 since creation. I do not see is accurate due to the bible mentioning the time of division of the nations / languages occurred during the time of Peleg who was born in 1757 after creation. We cannot know for sure the dates BC that many events occurred although we CAN know for sure the year from Creation that many of the same events occurred.
Genesis 10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
Genesis 11
1 And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech.
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 And they said one to another: 'Come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly.' And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
4 And they said: 'Come, let us build us a city, and a tower, with its top in heaven, and let us make us a name; lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.'
5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the LORD said: 'Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is what they begin to do; and now nothing will be withholden from them, which they purpose to do.
7 Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.'
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth; and they left off to build the city.
Peleg and all of his ancestors from Noah to his father Eber were not only alive during the tower of babel, they were all alive when Abraham and Lot were born. It is interesting that the wickedness that led up to the tower of babel happened 100 - 292 years after the flood. The tower of babel mirrors the timeline of the wickedness that led up to the flood. From commentaries, it is said that the angels that fell and took wives (creating the nephillim) happened in the days of Jared and other writings say 200 years before the flood. The tower of babel pretty much mirrors of what happened before the flood including the same timeline and the cities of sodom and gomorah, about 500 miles away, existed at the same time the tower of babel was built and they were filled with wickedness and homosexuality.
IF the tower of babel happened closer to the time of Abraham and Lot, it would be most interesting in that Yeshua said that the end times would be as in the days of Noah and the Days of Lot. YES this means wickedness including homosexuality, genetic manipulation and such but it also could mean the globalism nature and people working together for "the greater good" and trying to be like God by transhumanism, cyborgs, and other technologies that is being used to try and gain immortality.
I'm thinking that when Abraham was told to move from Chaldea, it may have been part of the spreading out in the aftermath of babel so that may be one indication the tower of babel may have been closer to Abraham (and Lot's) birth than to the flood. Also there would have had to have been enough time to build the population up for them to get together to build the tower. Even though I believe they may have had electricity, automobiles of some sort, and other technology before the flood, they would not have had it after the flood or at least not enough to have rebuilt it by then. Most who were involved in the globalism / rebellion of the tower were likely still alive in Abraham and Lot's day (as were all their ancestors from Noah on) and they still had the globalist view - they just could not work together because Yahweh gave them different languages.
Genesis 11
28 And Haran died in the presence of his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.
29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
30 And Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
Today we not only have the wickedness and violence that was prevalent before the flood in the days of Noah and the days of Lot, we also have the globalism and science (including the space programs, cloning, genetic manipulation) that are working together to "be like god" just like in the days of Noah - remember he was still alive when the tower of babel was built - and right before Lot was born - and they didn't stop their rebellion and trying to be like Yahweh, they were just slowed down when the languages were changed and they were spread throughout the world. Part of the wickedness then was definitely the working together against Yahweh and in the future will culminate in their turning their weapons against Yahweh when Yeshua returns.
Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
The days of Noah and days of Lot Yeshua says will be right before His return DEFINITELY includes violence, homosexuality, calling evil good and good evil. It also includes globalism and the working together doing things Yahweh said to not do as part of the rebellion against Him. Just an interesting study.
