It is unbelievable how many "christians" whore after false teachers and false "gods" just like Ancient Israel did. The only difference between now and then is we have what they did written in the bible as a warning to not do as they did.
Just because someone is likeable and had taught truth previously does not mean they have not become a false teacher. Both Messiah Yeshua and the apostle Paul warned about the wolves / tares / false teachers that came up AMONG the believers.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

There are many, many people who started off teaching the truth but then gradually started teaching in heresies and false doctrines. Just because you have become friends with someone or listened to their teachings that were 100% biblical does not mean that you should let your guard down and believe everything they teach. You need to compare EVERYTHING taught with scripture. While there are some teachings that are not clear and can be discussed and debated on meaning, other scripture is clear on what it says and is not open for debate.
When you listen to a teacher and they tell you stuff you like listening to - such as end times and what is going on in the world and how it relates to bible prophecy - and that teacher says it is acceptable to use pagan practices to worship Yahweh, as much as you like what that person says about bible prophecy, that person is a false teacher. If a person has a "new" teaching about Revelation 12 and identifies the manchild as "the church" and claims it can foretell the day of the rapture, that person - as much as you like them - is a false teacher (that teaching is old and is part of the dominionist kingdom theology known as 'manifest sons of god') Yahweh says these false teachers are a TEST to see if you will whore after the false teacher and their false "gods" or if you truly love Yahweh and will follow Him and Him alone.
Deuteronomy 13
1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
There are false teachers who are fleecing the flock and using he homeless to do so. They pretend to be feeding the homeless while using the money donated for that cause for their personal bills, This person is a judas and is a wolf no matter how many of his smooth sounding words sound so pretty in your ears. There are other false teachers who teach kabballah and divination and many people whore after his smooth sounding lies. No matter what these two taught in the past, they are now false teachers who refuse to repent of their wickedness and their followers are those who love smooth sounding lies. Both the false teachers and their followers are deceived and passing the deception among themselves.
John 12

False "christians" love listening to the lies of the false prophets. They do not care about following Yahweh, and the only reason they accepted Yeshua as 'Savior' (not as their Lord) is because they want to "go home" (referring to heaven) but they want to do it THEIR way - a way without obedience and sacrifice to follow Messiah Yeshua the way He said to follow Him. You must remember: heaven was the fallen angels home too.

Wolves run in packs. When one wolf comes up with a deception that sounds good to their followers, that deception is taken by another wolf and used to deceive their followers so you get the false teachings spreading among the wolves. These wolves will interview each other and defend the false heretical teachings. The youtube false prophets are infamous for this - if something becomes popular, every wolf will teach it to try and get their share of the prey (IE: $$$ from viewers - fleecing the sheep)
Ezekiel 22
25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

The road is NARROW and FEW find it. If you are following a false teacher, then you need to repent and follow Messiah Yeshua. The time is extremely short so you need to decide NOW who you will follow.

Jim Jones and the temple of doom OR the wolves in the churches
One thing all cult members have in common is that they believe they are following the truth and will die for the lie they have bought into. Those that are too young to remember have heard the expression 'don't drink the koolaid' knowing it means to not buy into a lie but do not know where the expression came from. It came from the Jim Jones cult (Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ) in Jonestown Guyana where over 900 people died, most by suicide, by drinking cyanide laced koolaid in november 1978.
Many "christians" have bought into various lies in their churches or fellowships because it was introduced by "a brother" (or "a sister") People LOVE ear tickling lies and they will do ANYTHING to protect the smooth sounding lies that tickle their ears and the wolves that introduced those lies. This has always been so.
Isaiah 30

From outside of the cult, we can often see the error and wonder how so many could buy into the lie of such a cult yet some who wonder this are in their own cult or false belief system they uphold as being truth. Both Messiah Yeshua and the apostle Paul warned about the wolves who would sneak in to deceive AND about the wolves who would rise up among them - people who were once sound in their beliefs that bought into a lie and then spread the lie. The problem is that the overseers - the "pastors" and fellowship "leaders" refuse to protect the sheep from these wolves. Many times they will expel those that warn about the wolves and allow the wolves to devour the sheep. Yahweh will judge these hireling overseers.

John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
This apostasy starts to spread like a cancer in once sound fellowships because the apostates are allowed to continue in the fellowships "as brothers" (or "sisters") instead of being expelled as the apostle Paul instructs. Sometimes the apostasy sneaks in and the fellowship swallows it before anyone knows what happened just like the proverbial frog is cooked before he knew what happened.

10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

The apostasy in these last days is rampant. All one needs to do is watch "christian" television or listen to "christian" radio for a few seconds to see the great apostasy in action. The apostasy uses various forms to infiltrate the once sound churches / fellowships. Often it is the claim that Yahweh wants you healthy and wealthy. The draw for riches by "sowing a seed of faith" has been the means of wealth to many of the false prophets today. They feed on the sheep who they deceive into believing that Yahweh will give them 100 times back financially if the sheep send them money. Others buy into satanic and new age practices as "christian" because their favorite "christian" musicians are from churches that promote it. Sheep are stupid animals and Yeshua using them as a metaphor for believers is fitting.
Music is a seduction of many. The music ministry of Hillsong (Hillsong United) Bethel-Redding (Jesus Culture) and ihop (various) has been the means to seduce people into accepting such practices as grave sucking, fire walking, and acceptance of other doctrines Yahweh calls abominations (IE: acceptance of sodomites as part of the ministry for one)
There are many roads to hell claiming they are to God - there is a seduction and drawing for everyone. satan does not care how you arrive in hell even if you claim to be a Christian all he cares about is your spending eternity separated from Yahweh. Yeshua gave a warning that there will be MANY who claimed to be His and even doing "things for Him" but He will reject them because they did not OBEY Yahweh by following what He said in Torah.

It isn't just the churches or large fellowships that need to be on guard against the wolves. Even small fellowships are infiltrated by false prophets and deceivers doing all sorts of evil against those who warn against them. Being a former victim of such evildoing, I can tell you the demons will not stop trying to destroy you if you warn against such false teachers. If you belong to Yahweh, all you need to do is sit back and watch how He deals with such evildoers.
One of the "leaders" in the fellowship I was in is far down the road of destruction and Yahweh is not even finished with him yet. He is a "christian" fortuneteller who is using kaballah to deceive people into thinking he can tell them their future and what is in store for them by secret codes he claims are hidden in the bible. He refuses to teach and believe what is clearly in scripture. All this while he divorces his wife and is under investigation for child neglect. Yet he still has followers and people love his smooth sounding lies.

satan is out to seek and destroy anyone he can. The only way to protect yourself is to cleave to Yahweh and follow/obey Yeshua as Messiah. Trust in Yahweh and follow what He CLEARLY says in scripture. Forsake the smooth sounding prophets that will only speak smooth lies to you to flatter you (and likely they use their fortune telling to claim those warning against them are doomed) Don't drink the Koolaid of these smooth sounding liars who pretend to be your friends - they are vicious wolves inside. They may look like a sheep and pretend to be a sheep but they will tear you apart behind your back.
One tactic of a narcissist - which all cult leaders are - is to project their evildoing onto their chosen victim to make their victim look evil and to make them look like the one who is the victim. I'm a daughter of a narcissistic mother who dealt with this my entire life so I understand what happened when the vicious evildoers (there were several) in the fellowship I was in spread their vile lies about me. They claimed I did not live for Yahweh and my "lifestyle was not as I claimed" while they were having affairs and cheating on their spouses. I have followed Yahweh since I was young and have not strayed as they claimed (I still do not know all of their lies although I know the truth about my life and know whatever they claimed had to have been very bad for some people to turn against me as they did) They claimed I was a manipulator and evildoer while they were the ones manipulating people (and manipulating those people against me) When I said to some of them to pray Yahweh strike down the evildoers (which included me if I was the evildoer) and bless those who were righteous in Messiah they claimed I wanted them dead - an admittance they knew what they were doing was evil and manipulative.
Once again I pray Yahweh strike down the evildoers and bless the righteous - and reveal the truth to those who are truly wanting to follow Yahweh. I'm very sad with how few want to know the truth and that so many believed the lies without even asking me what my side was. It's hard for me to defend myself when I don't even know what all the lies were!
Proverbs 18:17 The first to state his case seems right, till the other one comes and cross-examines.

Forsake the smooth sounding prophets that will only speak smooth lies to you to flatter you (and likely they use their fortune telling to claim those warning against them are doomed) Don't drink the Koolaid of these smooth sounding liars who pretend to be your friends - they are vicious wolves inside. They may look like a sheep and pretend to be a sheep but they will tear you apart behind your back.
One tactic of a narcissist - which all cult leaders are - is to project their evildoing onto their chosen victim to make their victim look evil and to make them look like the one who is the victim. I'm a daughter of a narcissistic mother who dealt with this my entire life so I understand what happened when the vicious evildoers (there were several) in the fellowship I was in spread their vile lies about me. They claimed I did not live for Yahweh and my "lifestyle was not as I claimed" while they were having affairs and cheating on their spouses. I have followed Yahweh since I was young and have not strayed as they claimed (I still do not know all of their lies although I know the truth about my life and know whatever they claimed had to have been very bad for some people to turn against me as they did) They claimed I was a manipulator and evildoer while they were the ones manipulating people (and manipulating those people against me) When I said to some of them to pray Yahweh strike down the evildoers (which included me if I was the evildoer) and bless those who were righteous in Messiah they claimed I wanted them dead - an admittance they knew what they were doing was evil and manipulative.
Once again I pray Yahweh strike down the evildoers and bless the righteous - and reveal the truth to those who are truly wanting to follow Yahweh. I'm very sad with how few want to know the truth and that so many believed the lies without even asking me what my side was. It's hard for me to defend myself when I don't even know what all the lies were!
Proverbs 18:17 The first to state his case seems right, till the other one comes and cross-examines.
If a believer harms their brother (or sister) they would go to that brother (or sister) and reconcile. Few of these people did this and they continue to whore after the wolf - an admittance they truly are not following Messiah Yeshua or obeying Yahweh as they claim. I can only pray some of them have their eyes opened and repent before it is too late for them. It seems most have chosen to drink the koolaid and are on the road to destruction while believing they are on the road to salvation.
